If only Mick wore his helmet he would still be here now.

Have you ever lost someone you loved? Well Phoebe’s family did. Mick was the one who died and Phoebe thought that it was all her fault.

This is a book about a family of four that turned into a family of three. They would always play together but they would mostly fight.

The part I liked the most was at the end so I can’t tell you but if you want to find out read the book. I also liked the part when Mick and Phoebe were fighting in the beginning of the book and Phoebe wanted the tattoo in the cereal box because Mick always gets it.

I recommend this book for kids that like sad and funny books.  This book will make you bike to your closest bookstore but don’t forget your helmet!

Would you be mad if someone left you on an island to survive on your own?  Well, that’s how Cole Matthews felt after Garvey and Edwin put him on the island.  He had been to multiple juvies before he had been sentenced to the island.

Cole Matthews was a violent young man that went to this island after circle justice.  I think he is very violent because he attacks something he can’t defeat.  Circle justice is a healing circle where the abuser, the victim, and anyone that wants to help the abuser come together to help the abuser become a better person.  However, Cole Matthews was not wanting to change and be a better person.  All he did was discard information and tried to show he was changing when he really wasn’t.  It was smart to do that but I wouldn’t have believed it if I were in this story.

My favourite part of the book was when he burnt down the shelter and supplies because he thought he had all the power when he didn’t have any at all!  My least favourite part was the violence.  I like violence but this book has a bit too much for me.  I would recommend this book for ages of 11-16 and for people that like violent stories.

Title: The Archaeolojesters
Author: Andreas Oertel
Ages: Grades 4-6

Have you ever really needed to have money fast, or for someone else to need money? Well, in “The ARCHAEOLOJESTERS” that is all Cody, Rachel and Eric can think about. Eric is leaving town because his parents aren’t making enough money in the old town Sultana. There plan is to make an ancient Egyptian tablet, bury it, and then get someone to find it.

It’s about three kids trying to get more than three thousand dollars to save two of them from leaving town. It’s one of those books you can’t put down. They are trying to make something four thousand years old, but it’s no walk in the park. Dr. Murray is the person who they want to find the tablet, because he knows a lot of people in the town and word will get around fast. But when a suspicious “visitor” comes to town and begins to watch their every move, things get messy. Like what they say “some risks are worth taking, but some are completely out of the book”. If you like books with twists and turns or suspense then read “The ARCHAEOLOJESTERS”. I recommend this book to ages 9-12. this book is no fairy tale!

If you love adventure books then you will love the “Archaeolojesters” because it is one of my favorite books I have ever read. The main characters in the book are Eric, Cody and Rachel. Rachel is Eric’s sister and Cody is Eric’s friend. Cody is the main character of the story and they need people to come to Saltana or else Eric could move away for ever!

When Dr. Murray was fishing he spotted a tablet in the bottom of the Macfi river. What I have been wondering for the whole book, is it real or fake? So if you want to find out then read the book your self. You should really read the book or you will regret it for your life.

In the end the tablet is a, I can’t tell you! I loved this book from the beginning to the end. I would recommend this book to people that are 9-13. Go and be an archeologist and find a tablet.

Title: Jakeman
Author: Deborah Ellis
Ages: 8-14

How would you feel if your mother was in prison and you were transferred from foster home to foster home? This is how the main character of “Jakeman”, Jacob Tyronne DeShawn, experiences life. But it suddenly takes a big twist.

It starts when Jake and his sister Shoshana take an ordinary bus ride to an ordinary prison but things quickly go crazy. My favourite part of “Jakeman” is when the bus driver leaves them in a farm field where they have to use teamwork to return to their normal lives. Will they return home to their crazy lives in the big city? Will asking the state governor to pardon his mother allow him to finally meet his mother outside of the prison walls one day soon?

I recommend this book to kids who like action-packed adventure and are 8 to 14 years old. You’ll be locked into this book.
